show Abstracthide AbstractThe Gaddi dog (popularly known as "Gaddi Kutta", or "Himalayan sheepdog" or "Himalayan Mastiff") is a mountain dog that has originated from the northern region of India, especially the Himalayan region. The breed has about 4 sub-types depending on its breeding tract, like Himachal Pradesh, Northern Uttarakhand, Union territories of Jammu, Kashmir, lower Shivalik hills, etc. The whole genome of 5 (five) Gaddi dogs (obtained from Kangra valley of Himachal Pradesh and Northern Forest region of Punjab state, India) has been sequenced using Illumina platform (150 bp PE, Novaseq-6000, minimum 30X coverage) from the DNA extracted from the peripheral blood sample. The raw data of all these 5 samples have been uploaded. This Bioproject (PRJNA843534) contains WGS data of Gaddi (5 samples), GBS data of divergent breeds of dogs (46 and 50 samples in two separate sets)
